OKCupid Is A Virtual Cesspool

Suffering from chronic insomnia, I had the opportunity to stumble across this Buzzfeed article, “10 Ridiculously Offensive Things People Tell Asian Women on OKCupid.” Link above. Let me start by stating that I find OKCupid disgusting for it perpetually encourages vile internet behaviour. OKCupid is not a matching site with filters to weed out selections for the right person, it’s a internet cesspool where one can harass another through a phony persona. There is something sickening about men (not excluding women for they’re out there too) going online to persuade someone to have sex with them by means of vulgarity and degradation. Calling a woman a slut or a hot chick who looks like they could use “some” will not encourage her to fuck you any more than she wants to shove a cactus up her cunt. I’ve never had a personal OKCupid account but many fellow friends had their kicks in the early college days with it so I’m rather familiar with the characters that stalk that site. I unfortunately know someone I’m close to that has an account and knowing that fact sickens me because I know it isn’t for joke purposes. It makes me reconsider their character, not completely, but just enough to make my skin crawl with repulsion.

Now, this article hit rather close to home. Not only because it was about OKCupid which I despise but also that it focused on the attention asian women received. As an asian woman, I’ve had countless encounters not too far different from the ones in the article, on the internet and in real life. A number (many) men approach me because they assume I am the submissive, soft spoken, obedient, asian woman who will carry out their fetishes; it’s a hard fact to swallow for me because I’m not an racial typecasting idiot and therefore go with the notion that it won’t be done to me. Ironically, these men with their fantasies try to woo me unknowingly to the fact that I am so goddamn far from the little doll they work me up to be in their imagination and pathetic attempts and I’m certainly one of the last women they should ever use this stomach turning approach. The feminist in me want to call him out, the asian in me wants to grab a butcher knife. I cannot fathom how their minds were wired to think that is how asian women want to to be fantasized or hear. No, it is not our life accomplishment to suck your dick on command and cook you dinner afterwards. Not just asian women, all women! I want to hate men but that’s unfair. I hate the actions and mindset of twisted and perverted people whom, in my experiences, happen to be men. I’m only in my early twenties but I have cynicism equivalent of a thrice divorcee. So, cheers to a couple more decades to becoming more and more ruthless towards all you sickos and ingrates!
